I love reading about mother’s schedules for their children and about ideas of how to have an orderly home and daily routine. I know our little sweet boy is only 8.5 months old, but after reading an encouraging post about how one mom engages with her children in reading about the Gospel, I can’t wait for Brandon and I to sit and read with him, eat dinner with him while talking with him about Jesus, and have him communicate with us about what we read to him. What to look forward to!
A few days ago I lost my mind and created Carter B quite a few meals from recipes I found on here. I made Chicken and Veggies, Beef Stew, and a Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, and Broccoli concoction! The house was getting hotter and hotter as I boiled the food and as the temperature rose outside…. The kitchen was a wreck and my sweet husband offered to help clean every dish that was dirty. Our counter tops are lined with clean dishes drying right now! He even said, laughingly, “You know why people eat out all the time!”
Anyway, the food was almost a hit. I’m not sure Carter B likes the onions and celery in the Beef Stew, but he doesn’t mind them in the Chicken and Veggies. Maybe after a second try he’ll enjoy the Beef Stew. Also, something a little crazy and adventurous (I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea or not at the time), I blended avocado and banana (he let just plain avocado run out of his mouth – he didn’t like it and it smelled yuckie!) and will call it either banamole or quacanana! He loved it, so I made some more and froze it. It will be a fun change of pace from applesauce.
And here are my dirty, messy boys!
