Well, I’ve received a few admonishments to continue posting on the blog… and I need to get my mind right! It has been a whirlwind of a December, not really because of the holidays, though those were sweet, sweet times, but because our dear friends have moved to their new home across the ocean, and we were so blessed to be right in the middle of packing them, housing them, and sending them off. Our great God has sent them; He is sustaining them; He will cause them to thrive; and He will make His name great among the nations through them. Very much looking forward to seeing and hearing how He will use them for His glory in the near future.
Well, Carter B continues surprising us with new words, new understandings, and new actions! That little boy tries to jump, only to squat and then kick his legs – we encourage him to jump at least 15 times a day, just for entertainment on our behalf and because he seems to really enjoy jumping. He’s learning to say “Poppa” and continuing to sing along with us as we try to teach him to clean up. He knows what his coat and hat are and how to give his Sissy a magazine… the Lord has made kids minds so expandable, so influential. The responsibility in parenting is great – praying for grace to lovingly and gently train and instruct this little boy.
Brandon is doing well. Fatigue and swelling of his feet are what he is experiencing lately. Just since the beginning of December has he been having foot swelling problems. The doctors seem to think it is merely medication related and that his condition with the swelling could be much worse. They are advising rest of his feet and taking medication to release the acquired fluid. His hair looks GREAT! It is as soft or softer than a little baby’s hair and his beard is in full-swing, coming in full and a mix between blond, red, and black. Oh, and his hair is a completely different color than before – it will amaze you!
The LORD has been kind to pull our hearts together in seeing our need for Gospel-centered conversations throughout the day and consistent family worship. Our little boy, as well as each of us, need to hear our need for Jesus not once a day, but multiple times a day. That has been a sweet and real need in our lives, and we are so excited the LORD is kind to bring to mind our failings and need for Him.

A picture we took on my phone of Carter B in his Aunt Corie’s rocking chair (making it older than 35 years)! He loves to rocky rocky
