One year ago my sweet momma was caring for a very sick little Carter Brown. Today one year ago was actually my sister’s birthday which she began EARLY because Carter B needed some meds from Wal-Mart! One year ago today began a nearly three week long hospital stay for our dear little boy. I wept last night thinking of how much our son was in pain a year ago and how helpless my mom must have felt. But those tears were also tears of rejoicing and praise to the Author of Life and our Great Physician who saw fit to heal our son and cause us to see Romans 15:13 come alive. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Hundreds of people across two states knelt before the Throne of God, pleading for our son’s healing. After two brain surgeries, our little man is walking and running like any almost three-year-old!! As Brandon and I think back to what the Lord ordained for our family one year ago today, we continually say that we rejoice in the Lord for sparing our son’s life for His glory and do pray that the reason his life was spared will be so that Carter Brown will confess that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and will spend his life proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus.
So thank you family; thank you friends; thank you church family for praying believingly that Carter B would be healed and that our souls would be sanctified. May the scar on our son’s curly-headed head be a contant “ebenezer” or reminder of the Great things God has done. May this reminder on Carter Brown’s body incline his heart to the treasure of Jesus and may he belong to God’s family soon!
