2 Corinthians 5:9-10 “So whether we are at home [with the Lord] or away [from the Lord], we make it our aim to please Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”
All things are for Christ, not ourselves. Colossians 1:15-17 “He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
Learning, painfully but joyfully, that doing things in my own strength and for motives which only have my “good” in mind only lead to disappointment and failure. May the Gospel inform and control me in all areas of my day, and may my children, husband, family, and acquaintences be given grace and mercy extended to them as an outflow of the grace and mercy I have received in Christ Jesus. Let us live lives which please Jesus!
